The Carnival of Brazil, properly spelled "Carnaval" in Portuguese, is an annual festival in Brazil held forty days before Easter.It is a euphoric event where people dance, sing, party and have tons of fun. The carnival is celebrated in towns and villages throughout Brazil and other Catholic countries, Rio de Janeiro has long been regarded as the Carnival Capital of the World. The Rio Carnaval is not only the biggest Carnival, it as also a benchmark against which every other carnival is compared and one of the most interesting artistic events on the Globe.
Samba School:
The main parade of Rio´s Carnival is at the Sambodrome, a massive concrete stadium-like structure, built along Avenida Marques de Sapucai. The parade involves more then 50.000 figurants, and a selected number of top samba schools. Most of the schools, representing many districts and social clubs and interests, arena present in the main Samba School Parade.

Sambodorme:
The Sambadrome (Sambodromo) consists of 700 m stretch of the Marques de Sapucai street converted into a permanent parade ground with bleachers built on either side for spectators. Its capacity is 90,000.
